for somebody new coming to this wiki, and not having an idea of what the wall of text means in the top portion of the document, makes it difficult to comprehend what setting/feature does when creating a datum plane. a little animated gif visually demoing the various different ways a datum plane can be constructed would go a long way explaining the many different settings of a datum plane.

I understand you. However, this is a feature for experienced users. For new users, it is recommended to learn FreeCAD using the PartDesign workbench: PartDesign_Workbench. With this Workbench you can already do 90% of the daily work. The part Workbench is optimized to handle the parts you created with Part Design, so for example to perform Boolean operations. You will see that Part Attachment is an expert feature because for the different PartDesign parts you already have an attachment. --uwestoehr (talk) 22:42, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
