Summary | 0004121: AMF export files with text come out reversed
Description | I made a small sign in FreeCAD but when exported as an AMF to the Cura slicer, the text comes out reversed. I followed numerous examples to try and get the text to come out correctly to no avail. When the same file is exported from FreeCAD as an STL file, it works correctly. This is important as it causes new users to go insane trying to figure out what they did wrong.
Steps To Reproduce | Draw a box in part design Pad the box goto the Draft WB Add shapestring to surface of box goto part WB pad shape string select all object in model tree file -> export -> save file as AMF file -> export -> save file as STL I have imported both files into the slicer and the results are in the attached screen shot. The AMF file is the upper and STL is the lower. AMF files imported into slicer have text reversed STL files imported into slicer have text correct

Hello all, This now is not an issue in 0.19 with the following build: OS: Windows 10 (10.0) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.19.22039 (Git) Build type: Release Branch: master Hash: 2bfc6301bc80c0344cbf13dbfe041fbd78cac93d Python version: 3.8.2 Qt version: 5.12.5 Coin version: 4.0.0 OCC version: 7.4.0 Locale: English/United States (en_US) I tried it with the AMF and STL of the original submitted examples and bot display correctly in Cura. Thank you. It is probably not worth working on. |
