First of all, product version should not be 0.18, its development isn't even started yet.

pager48, you used the B-spline tool in the Sketcher, but this creates an open B-spline. Then you used a coincident constraint to close it, but the curve forms a sharp concave corner at the joint which is never good with fillets. If you want a closed B-spline, you should use the Periodic B-spline tool instead, which is below the B-spline tool in the toolbar.

I replaced your B-spline in Sketch001 with a periodic B-spline, and it's possible to fillet the edges - although, with such tight curvature changes, there's an upper limit to the radius value where it fails. And that cannot be avoided. FreeCAD is limited by the OCCT kernel, but I doubt it would be better with commercial programs in this scenario.

IMO this report should be closed as I don't see what can be done from FreeCAD's part.

@pager48 please please please open forum threads asking about these things before opening tickets. It creates more work for volunteers who are ATM working on the 0.17 release.
