| Summary | 0002539: Add credits in About dialog | ||||
| Description | Currently the "Help->About FreeCAD" dialog only shows Jürgen/Werner/Yorik. This is unfair to other people, most projects such as Gimp or Inkscape feature a "Credits" button or tab on the About dialog, that shows a more complete list of contributors. The plan: - Remove the line with "(C) Jürgen, Werner, Yorik" from the about dialog (and add it in the credits below instead) - Add a "credits" tab, if possible, or, if not, a "credits" button that opens a new dialog - Gather contributors from: 1) Companies that donated code or money 2) Git contributors 3) Top wiki contributors 4) Top crowdin contributors 5) Most active people on the forum (in case not already in the above categories) - If possible, also add a "license" tab - If possible, find a way to automate the gathering of above people for next releases - Update the "credits" wiki page accordingly | ||||

GIT This shows git contributors, ordered by volume: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/graphs/contributors This is the same but gives the results as json: https://api.github.com/repos/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/contributors CROWDIN Settings -> Reports -> Custom report -> Translated strings contains how many strings each person did. Available with te API too WIKI No built-in way to get top contributors Possible extension (to test): https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Contribution_Scores FORUM Apparently not possible without a mod. Is it worth it? We all know who they are :) |
