Summary | 0002256: Importing OBJ does not load Material
Description | When I try to open a .obj file, the geometry loads fine, but colorless. The importer seems to ignore the associated .mtl file.

> The importer seems to ignore the associated .mtl file. Does this mean that colours are not part of the obj file but offered by a separate file? Sounds weird! Can you offer a simple example, please? |

For an example see http://people.cs.clemson.edu/~dhouse/courses/405/docs/brief-obj-file-format.html (Cube with Materials) |

I am also bumping into this missing feature on: OS: Windows 7 Platform: 32-bit Version: 0.13.1828 Python version: 2.6.2 Qt version: 4.5.2 Coin version: 3.1.0 SoQt version: 1.4.1 OCC version: 6.3.0 I uploaded (hope so) and example (blue-plastic-push-buttons.obj and .mtl). Place those 2 files in the same directory. Open the .obj file with GLC player and you should see a blue part. Open this same .obj file with FreeCAD and you should see a gray part. François |

Please do not clone issues like that without a reason... It won't make them fixed magically, and only gives us more work. Thanks |
